Behavior Technician, Residential Treatment
About the role
As a Behavior Technician, you’ll play a meaningful role in our residential therapeutic setting with individuals in need of behavior stabilization who have diagnoses of autism spectrum disorder, behavioral health conditions, and/or developmental disabilities. Constant engagement with and supervision of individuals will be required, including programs specific to the individual's needs based on their IP.
You will implement Applied Behavioral Analysis (a highly scheduled, intensive therapeutic approach to teach expected behavior and life skills), highly structured Behavior Support Plans, and other approaches determined appropriate by the team. Crisis intervention is likely for issues including self-injury, aggression, and high magnitude disruptive behavior.
Responsibilities
- Engage constantly with and supervise individuals in a residential therapeutic setting
- Implement individualized programs based on each person’s needs
- Apply Applied Behavioral Analysis techniques to teach expected behavior and life skills
- Follow highly structured Behavior Support Plans and other team-determined approaches
- Perform crisis intervention for self-injury, aggression, and disruptive behavior
- Use tools and equipment as required, including pushing/pulling wheelchairs and lifting individuals with hoyer lifts
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to communicate in English, both spoken and written
- First Aid, CPR (adult, child, and infant), and delegated nursing certification
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License with proof of auto insurance
- No more than 5 points on license
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and/or behavioral health conditions
- Experience implementing applied behavior analysis
- College Degree in a related field

- Detail-oriented with strong literacy and writing abilities
- Excellent documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
