About the role

The Behavior Specialist/BCBA will provide direct service to students with disabilities, focusing on behavior intervention and support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized behavior plans and interventions for students with disabilities.
  • Assess student behavior and progress towards goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement behavior support plans.
  • Document observations, assessments, and interventions in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required to stay updated on best practices and new developments in special education and behavior analysis.

Requirements

  • Current Tennessee Teaching Certificate in at least one area of Special Education or Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credentials.
  • Successful teaching or other relevant experience addressing behavior for students with disabilities.
  • Broad knowledge of and ability to apply all Special Education Federal and State rules and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Sufficient computer and word processing skills to maintain records and complete required documents.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with students who have autism or moderate to severe behavioral and/or emotional problems.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply behavior analysis principles and techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
