About the role
The Behavior Specialist/BCBA will provide direct service to students with disabilities, focusing on behavior intervention and support.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized behavior plans and interventions for students with disabilities.
- Assess student behavior and progress towards goals.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement behavior support plans.
- Document observations, assessments, and interventions in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Attend meetings and trainings as required to stay updated on best practices and new developments in special education and behavior analysis.
Requirements
- Current Tennessee Teaching Certificate in at least one area of Special Education or Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credentials.
- Successful teaching or other relevant experience addressing behavior for students with disabilities.
- Broad knowledge of and ability to apply all Special Education Federal and State rules and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Sufficient computer and word processing skills to maintain records and complete required documents.
Qualifications
- Experience working with students who have autism or moderate to severe behavioral and/or emotional problems.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply behavior analysis principles and techniques.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
