Role: Behavior Specialist in a Special Education setting, supporting elementary and middle school students. Responsibilities: Implementing individual, group, and system-wide behavioral interventions to promote positive outcomes.Reinforcing positive behaviors, redirecting negative behaviors, and modeling strategies for staff.Maintaining accurate records of behavior plans and interventions.Collecting and analyzing behavioral data to monitor student progress.Supporting classroom staff with behavior management and monitoring students.Applying ABA principles under supervision to address disruptive behaviors.Conducting behavioral observations and developing assessments and intervention plans.Assisting with instructional activities, supervising students, and managing classroom behavior.Providing crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to ensure safety.Documenting incidents, adhering to safety protocols, and participating in team and professional development activities.Supporting students during school activities and performing additional duties to enhance program quality. Qualifications & Skills: Associate's degree or higher in a related field.Current or pending paraprofessional or similar license; RBT credential preferred.Experience working with children with learning disabilities, autism, or behavioral disorders.Knowledge of ABA, FBA, BIP, and PBIS principles.Strong communication, organization, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.Ability to respond calmly in emergencies and make independent decisions.Proficiency with technology and data management tools.
