About the Role
Assists teachers, therapists, and counselors with administration of one-on-one intensive behavioral intervention therapy and tutoring to students in a school, home, or other setting. Performs a variety of activities in support of special instructional programs including special education, interagency, and District-wide subject matter.
Responsibilities
- Administer one-on-one intensive behavioral intervention therapy
- Provide tutoring to students in various settings (school, home, or other)
- Support special instructional programs, including special education and District-wide subject matter initiatives
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 48 college credit units that are degree eligible, plus one year of experience working within a classroom environment containing students with special needs or a high school diploma, passing of a competency exam, and three years of classroom experience
- Completion of ABA/DTT training
- May require a valid driver’s license and/or first aid card
Qualifications
- NCLB Compliance (48 college units (semester) or pass the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam administered only by TRUSD, RLUSD, NSSD, GJUHSD, or DPHSD)
- Proof of high school graduation (diploma, transcripts, or equivalent such as GED)
- Resume providing clear evidence of required experience
Pay
$24.01 - $31.78 per hour in 9 annual steps. Salary placement is based on relevant experience.
Schedule
- 6.5 hours/day, 5 days/week
- 182 work days/year
