Job Requirements

Job Summary: Behavioral Health Clinician I’s act as an extension of the psychiatric provider. They are responsible for completing psychosocial assessments, developing treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, and crisis de-escalation. They work independently under clinical supervision to evaluate and recommend appropriate levels of care for behavioral health patients. The goal is to provide necessary information to psychiatric providers for final dispositions.

Work Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Human Services (Social Work, Professional Counseling, etc.) required.
  • Licensed as a LGPC or LMSW in the state of Maryland required.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with acute and chronic mental illness in an acute care psychiatric setting preferred.

Education & Training

  • Master’s Degree in Human Services (i.e., Social Work, Professional Counseling, etc.) required.
  • Licensed as a LGPC or LMSW in the state of Maryland required.

Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of behavioral health clinical practice in various settings.
  • Completing psychosocial assessments.
  • Provision of trauma-informed individual, group, and family therapy services.
  • Developing and implementing discharge and aftercare plans.
  • Coordinating services for patients/families with community providers, including knowledge of community resources, Medicare/Medicaid, and commercial insurances.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to scope of clinical practice in multiple settings.
  • Effective critical thinking.
  • Professional and effective written and verbal communication.
  • Prioritize work assignments and manage time effectively to complete duties.
  • Work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with internal and external partners.
  • Assess, adapt, and calmly respond to changing and/or crisis environments.
  • Make independent decisions consistent with current policies, procedures, healthcare, and ethical standards.
  • Be available to adapt hours to meet the needs of partners.

Benefits

  • PRN Days (8am-Noon- some flex).
  • Pay Range: $30.26- $42.37/hr. (depends on years of experience).
  • Shift Differential.
