Before and After School Group Leader Teacher Assistant/Early Learning Professional

Location(s): Now hiring for our before and after school care programs starting in August at Waldorf Elementary Schools (Waldorf, MD).

Pay

$15.00 per hour

Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• 6:30 AM – 9:00 AM (before school)
• 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM (after school; times differ with each school)

About the role

AlphaBEST Education provides extended day, summer, and enrichment programs designed to inspire and engage students while they discover and learn beyond the school day in a fun, safe environment. As an AlphaBEST Group Leader Assistant, you'll help shape meaningful before and after school moments that help kids learn, grow, and thrive.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily curriculum activities (World Languages, STEAM, Fitness, Maker, and Arts) while encouraging positive peer interactions
• Make child safety the top priority at all times and follow procedures closely
• Keep the space clean and organized
• Help create an environment where kids feel supported and included
• Build strong relationships with teammates, kids, families, and school staff

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• CPR and First Aid certification required
• 3–6 months experience in a childcare or educational setting
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to work in a classroom setting with regular bending and lifting (up to 25 pounds)
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet program staffing needs
