Before and After School Group Leader Assistant/Early Learning Professional

About the role

AlphaBEST is seeking a Before and After School Group Leader for their school age program. This position is available at Centreville Elementary School and Matapeaque Elementary School in Stevensville, MD.

Responsibilities

• Lead a dedicated team of Guides to deliver exciting activities to students in various fields such as fitness, the arts, technology, and more.
• Collaborate with peers and the Leadership Team to manage all aspects of the program site.
• Train AlphaBEST Guides on leading adventurous tasks that inspire children's sense of wonder.
• Encourage creativity and intellectual curiosity by establishing clubs that align with students' interests and talents.
• Create a caring, family-oriented environment fostering positive relationships between staff, children, parents, and schools.

Requirements

• Hold a 90-hour certification in school age programs or a degree in child care or teaching.
• Have one year of direct experience working with children in an approved setting (registered child care home, licensed child care center, nursery, school, church, or similar).
• Be at least 21 years old.
• Be available to work flexible schedules including half days, delayed openings, and camp days.

Qualifications

• Successfully complete a background check as required by state childcare licensing regulations.
• Provide proof of experience as required by state childcare licensing standards.
