Before and After School Child Care Coordinator - St. Mary Elementary

St. Mary Elementary School is seeking an energetic and dedicated Before & After School Coordinator to lead our vibrant program for the 2025-2026 school year. Help us nurture children's growth, learning, and fun before and after the school bell rings. About the role

We are seeking an individual who will exhibit the Core Values of Bishop O’Gorman Catholic Schools: Faith, Unity, Excellence, and Integrity, and create an environment of trust.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM – 6:00 PM
• Location: St. Mary Elementary School

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission of Bishop O’Gorman Catholic School, ensuring a positive and supportive safe environment for all students
• Ensure safety and well-being of children in the before and after school care program, maintaining a secure environment at all times
• Maintain accurate daily attendance records for students and provide necessary documents to central office when required
• Organize and implement engaging daily activities for children ages 3-12, aligned with age-appropriate developmental goals
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding events, snacks, and schedules, including distributing a monthly calendar of activities
• Collaborate with the Principal, HR Director, and other coordinators to review procedures, lesson plans, inventory, and ensure adherence to policies, training, and child development practice

Requirements

Coordinator must meet one of the following requirements per SD DSS licensing rules:

• Have a bachelor’s degree in a field of education or human development
• Have a two-year degree in early childhood education
• Have a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or comparable credential, as determined by the department
• Hold certification in a specific child learning philosophy and have at least one year of experience in a child care setting
• Have a child development technician diploma
• Have four years of experience in a center or school age program
