Beef QA Commercialization Manager - QSR

Position Overview

We are looking for a Beef QA Commercialization Manager - QSR in 5707 Waterford District Dr., Miami, FL 33126 USA. Your mission will be to:

  • Ensure the safety, quality, consistency and regulatory compliance of our client's food products across the United States and Canada.
  • Enhance guest satisfaction and franchisee profitability by partnering with suppliers and cross-functional teams including Product Innovation, Supply Chain, Operations and Marketing.
  • Manage assigned commodity categories and supplier relationships within our client's North America Quality Assurance program, providing technical QA leadership and support from the Miami corporate office.
  • Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of supplier food safety and quality programs to ensure products consistently meet our client's specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain product specifications, supplier quality standards, audit protocols and QA documentation to ensure product consistency and safe manufacturing conditions.
  • Analyze consumer and restaurant complaint data to identify supply chain root causes and ensure suppliers implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Evaluate supplier food safety systems, laboratory testing programs and sensory performance to ensure capability to consistently meet our client's product standards.
  • Provide technical QA leadership during investigations or crisis situations impacting product quality or food safety.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory developments from agencies such as FDA, USDA, FSIS and CFIA to ensure compliance with North American food safety regulations.
  • Review and validate nutritional information for new and existing products to ensure compliance with our client's nutritional policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Manage assigned commodity categories and supplier relationships within our client's North America Quality Assurance program, providing technical QA leadership and support from the Miami corporate office.

Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of supplier food safety and quality programs to ensure products consistently meet our client's specifications and regulatory requirements.

Monitor supplier performance through analytical data, product testing, audits and evaluation reports; identify trends and lead continuous improvement initiatives with the supplier base.

Prepare and present clear and concise supplier quality performance updates and technical insights to senior leadership.

Oversee third-party auditing programs and vendor partners responsible for certifying facilities and approving new suppliers or production locations.

Support product commercialization and collaborate with Product Innovation teams during development, scale-up and rollout of new products.

Develop, review and maintain product specifications, supplier quality standards, audit protocols and QA documentation to ensure product consistency and safe manufacturing conditions.

Analyze consumer and restaurant complaint data to identify supply chain root causes and ensure suppliers implement corrective and preventive actions.

Evaluate supplier food safety systems, laboratory testing programs and sensory performance to ensure capability to consistently meet our client's product standards.

Serve as a technical QA subject matter expert during investigations or crisis situations impacting product quality or food safety.

Maintain awareness of regulatory developments from agencies such as FDA, USDA, FSIS and CFIA to ensure compliance with North American food safety regulations.

Review and validate nutritional information for new and existing products to ensure compliance with our client's nutritional policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Sciences or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in food quality assurance, supplier quality management or food manufacturing within the food service, QSR or CPG industry preferred.
  • Experience working directly with food manufacturing suppliers and managing supplier quality performance within a complex supply chain environment.
  • PREFERRED: Experience in beef and pork categories, with strong understanding of beef and other animal protein manufacturing processes.
  • Solid understanding of nutritional facts and its components.
  • Professional certifications such as HACCP, Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Manager (CQM), or similar are strongly preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of statistical process control and process capability.
  • Knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and processes to monitor supplier performance standards.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret technical and operational data to make informed supplier performance decisions.
  • Effective communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Advanced computer skills i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, Statistical Tools, Tableau.
  • Ability to travel (within a designated budget).

Work Environment

The incumbent will work primarily in an office setting but spend time in a laboratory setting with proper lighting and temperature control. Occasional exposure to extreme cold. Work hours can vary according to the sample load and may include weekends. The incumbent must be able to handle all matrices or other product types as received, within appropriate safety guidelines. Visits to clients’ facilities may be required including production facilities and the incumbent must adhere to all requirements outlined in their health and safety protocols. The incumbent will also be working in a kitchen environment where exposure to kitchen hazards such as sharp objects, hot surfaces, slippery floors, and other typical dangers will be common. The incumbent is required to wear safety equipment that includes eye protection, gloves, and laboratory coat.
