Bearing Technician

Job Purpose

Break down, wash, inspect, repair, and assemble train car bearings and components.

About the role

Works with new and used railroad bearings; Duties encompass inspecting parts and assembly line type duties to recondition freight car bearings; Operate overhead cranes and forklifts; Ability to work 1st shift (Mon - Fri 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM) or 2nd shift (Mon - Thurs 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM) with overtime and weekends required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Prefer 6 months experience as machine operator, will consider equivalent school/training
• Must be able to perform quality inspections
• Read precision instruments and gauges
• Capable use of hand tools
• Work around overhead cranes and mobile equipment
• Work as an effective team member
• Working safely is a condition of employment
