About the role

As a manager within BCG Platinion’s Tech Advisory and Delivery Chapter, you’ll be given end-to-end responsibility for larger and more complex “modules” within a BCG project and begin to develop specialized knowledge to help solve clients’ problems. You’ll work on a variety of digital topics, applying generalist consulting skills to strategic digital and technology questions. Working with clients to understand their issues, you’ll create strategies for change, win buy-in for your recommendations, and collaborate with fellow BCGers to transform client potential into performance.

Given your role in leading these modules, you will manage, support, and coach more junior team members while also serving as an individual contributor. Our consultants within the Tech & Digital Advantage (TDA) Chapter are an integral part of BCG’s core consulting team, working side-by-side with all practice areas to create value and competitive advantage for clients.

You’ll help clients answer critical questions such as:

  • How will AI disrupt my business model?
  • How can businesses use data and analytics to create highly personalized outreach delivered through a seamless omnichannel experience?
  • How can I ship higher-quality digital services to my customers faster by using Agile?

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of superior IT concepts and tech solutions to solve clients’ most challenging problems.
  • Gather and evaluate information, leveraging your expertise to build clear, insightful paths for clients.
  • Collaborate across interdisciplinary teams to establish relationships and drive alignment with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Navigate ambiguity and work confidently through undefined challenges to guide organizations toward optimized IT best practices.
  • Act as a change agent, aligning and onboarding teams to implement new processes, toolsets, and technologies.
  • Influence stakeholders by building trust and effectively communicating across business and IT functions.
  • Leverage AI and agentic technologies to deliver high-impact outcomes and tackle complex challenges.
  • Manage larger, complex project modules, providing mentorship and coaching to junior team members while ensuring quality assurance.
  • Lead the design and delivery of AI-powered products, including defining product vision, roadmaps, and prioritization frameworks grounded in domain-specific workflows.
  • Translate business strategy into AI-enabled product concepts, functional specifications, and delivery plans.
  • Oversee agile product delivery, including sprint planning, backlog management, and iterative development.
  • Define product/solution architecture and data integration patterns, ensuring outputs meet functional, technical, and compliance requirements.
  • Design and integrate AI and generative AI capabilities into enterprise workflows at scale.
  • Lead vendor evaluations and platform selection processes for AI product tooling.
  • Drive change management and adoption strategies to embed AI products into business operations.
  • Optimize business and IT processes within complex, matrixed organizations and communicate a clear path forward for clients and stakeholders.
  • Deliver data and digital platforms using techniques such as Agile, DevSecOps, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Create client-specific strategic materials, synthesizing insights from technical experts into clear, action-oriented recommendations.
  • Assist with business development through proposal writing, project scoping, and contributing to thought leadership via publications and speaking engagements.
  • Present materials, facilitate workshops, and build relationships with key clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in information technology, computer science, economics, supply chain, logistics, systems engineering, business management/administration, or a relevant field.
  • 5–8 years of practical experience in AI/tech consulting, product management, professional software development, or product and program implementation.
  • Deep technological expertise in 2–3 of the following areas:
    • AI and agentic platforms
    • Data and digital analytics platforms
    • Cloud infrastructure and technologies
    • Data management capabilities
    • Enterprise tech platforms
    • Business IT architecture
    • Software and product management (including Agile ways of working)
    • Tech, enterprise architecture, and data governance
  • Experience with a wide breadth of tech/AI/digital offerings, including:
    • Developing roadmaps and current-state assessments for IT and AI/data organizations in large companies.
    • Orchestrating technical program delivery across business stakeholders, complex vendor landscapes, and technology ecosystems.
    • AI/LLM cost optimization and FinOps.
    • IT benchmarking and recommendations for cost-takeout initiatives.
    • Developing future-state tech vendor landscapes, vendor assessments/selections, automation, and tech cost-benefit analysis.
    • Supporting tech functions during mergers and acquisitions, including functional and technical transformation of IT departments.
    • Communicating the differences and benefits between multiple cloud providers and strategies for migrating from on-premise architecture.
    • Utilizing working knowledge of GenAI and its potential use cases to deliver practical and visionary solutions.
  • Experience leading the design and delivery of AI-powered products, including:
    • Defining AI product vision, roadmaps, and prioritization frameworks grounded in domain-specific workflows.
    • Translating business strategy into AI-enabled product concepts, functional specifications, and delivery plans.
    • Leading agile product delivery, including sprint planning, backlog management, and iterative development.
    • Owning product quality assurance and ensuring outputs meet functional, technical, and compliance requirements.
    • Defining product/solution architecture and data integration patterns.
    • Designing and overseeing the integration of AI and generative AI capabilities into enterprise workflows at scale.
    • Defining data strategy and governance requirements for production-grade AI products.
    • Leading the design of agentic workflows and automation use cases.
    • Leading vendor evaluations and platform selection processes for AI product tooling.
    • Driving change management and adoption strategies to embed AI products into business operations.
  • Preferred domain expertise in one or more of the following areas:
    • FP&A & FinOps: Lead the design and delivery of AI-powered products with subject-matter depth in core finance processes (e.g., FP&A, financial close, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash) and underlying systems (e.g., ERP, CLM, EPM) and data (e.g., GL, Orders, Invoices, Contracts). Experience deploying AI use cases ranging from operational quick wins (e.g., AI chat-enabled reporting insights) to strategic transformation (e.g., AI order-to-cash automation).
    • Supply Chain / S&OP(E): Lead the design and delivery of AI-powered products with subject-matter depth in key supply chain processes (e.g., demand planning, inventory optimization, procurement, logistics) and underlying systems (e.g., ERP, MES, APS) and data (e.g., BOM, Orders, Inventory). Experience deploying AI use cases ranging from operational quick wins (e.g., stockout detection) to strategic transformation (e.g., agentic S&OP transformation).
    • Go-To-Market (GTM): Lead the design and delivery of AI-powered products with subject-matter depth in key GTM processes (e.g., marketing, sales, customer success, revenue operations) and underlying systems (e.g., CRM, CMS, CPQ, SPM) and data (e.g., Customer, Lead/Opportunity, Order/configuration, Territory/Quota). Experience deploying AI use cases from operational quick wins (e.g., lead scoring, outreach automation) to strategic transformation (e.g., AI-native revenue operations).
  • Strong written communication skills, including:
    • Leading the creation of client-specific strategic materials and surfacing key insights from technical experts.
    • Codifying messaging and data into presentable materials with a focus on accuracy and speed.
    • Synthesizing wide-ranging conversations and artifacts into clear, action-oriented recommendations.
    • Assisting with business development through proposal writing and project scoping.
    • Contributing to thought leadership via written publications and speaking engagements.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, including:
    • Presenting materials, case updates, and escalations to client and internal teams.
    • Facilitating technical and strategic working sessions and workshops.
    • Providing direction and feedback to team members.
    • Building relationships with key clients.
  • Team management experience, including:
    • Defining and organizing work modules for junior team members.
    • Mentoring and coaching junior team members with explicit development objectives.
    • Providing quality assurance oversight for junior team members’ output.
    • Promoting a positive experience for junior staff and serving as a role model for BCG’s culture and values.
