North Shore Pediatric Therapy in Des Plaines, IL is seeking a BCBA in training to join our team.

About the role

You will work as a Registered Behavior Technician while assisting the Clinical Director with unrestricted supervision activities for a caseload of clients. You must currently be enrolled in a graduate-level ABA course and working towards your BCBA certification.

In this role, you’ll provide life-changing ABA therapy that impacts entire families. For example, a child might gain essential vocabulary to express needs or shift from antisocial behaviors to greeting family cheerfully after just a few weeks of therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the BCBA/Clinic Director team with unrestricted supervision activities for a caseload of clients
  • Maintain a role as a Behavior Therapist for approximately half of your hours
  • Lead Behavior Therapist/Registered Behavior Technician (BT/RBT) training classes for onboarding and ongoing training
  • Enter notes, assessments, and treatment summaries into our electronic medical system after each session

Requirements

  • Enrolled or completed in graduate-level ABA courses, actively working towards BCBA certification
  • 1 year of experience conducting ABA therapy with clients with Autism
  • Active RBT certification with the BACB
  • Background in teaching, assisting, counseling, or coaching
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills and ability to quickly learn new technology

  • Described by others as having unflappable patience and compassion
  • Able to provide consistent, calm care and follow-up for clients with diverse needs

Physical demands

  • Required to sit, stand, bend, and walk regularly
  • Lift and/or move up to 45 lbs
  • Visual and auditory ability sufficient for written and verbal communication
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment

Pay

$23 - $23 USD per hour
