About the Role

The Batcher Lead performs standardized qualitative and quantitative tests on work-in-process and finished products to ensure compliance with company Quality and Food Safety standards. This role also provides training and guidance to a team of Syrup Batcher Technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct organoleptic and analytical analyses of products at various stages of production to ensure compliance with company Quality and Food Safety standards.
  • Apply knowledge of chemical principles, GMP, HACCP, chemical safety, and housekeeping procedures.
  • Maintain QA document and record control procedures, including formula and specification control, consumer complaints, and nonconforming materials/products.
  • Train new personnel and existing laboratory staff/Syrup batchers on new procedures and techniques.
  • Perform instrument and method development, including validation programs for new processes and procedures.
  • Assist the Quality Supervisor and Quality Manager with special projects as directed.
  • Complete forklift certification; prior forklift experience is preferred.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in batching, blending, and mixing.
  • 3 years of laboratory experience in a dairy, food, or beverage manufacturing environment (preferred).
  • 2 years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Infinity QS, and SAP (preferred).
  • Strong computer skills, including accurate data input.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in applying mathematical concepts and reasoning skills.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to frequently kneel, squat, bend, twist, reach overhead, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to work in varying temperature and humidity conditions.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Bend, stretch, and stand for entire shifts.
  • Frequently kneel, squat, climb stairs/ladders, stoop, twist, and reach overhead with repetitive motions.

Schedule

This is a full-time position working 12-hour shifts from 4:00 PM to 4:30 AM. Days vary based on production needs. Must be flexible and available to work overtime and weekends as required.

Pay

Starting pay is $30.39 per hour with a $1.00 shift differential. After 6 months, the rate increases to $31.96 per hour.
