About the Venue
The University of Southern California (USC) Athletics encompasses a wide range of sports programs and facilities owned and operated by the University of Southern California. The facilities host various events, including sporting events, concerts, and other special events.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellence in guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards.
- Follow bar pre-shift notes and bar menus, providing service as described.
- Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures, including state/federal regulations pertaining to alcohol distribution.
- Learn or have knowledge of various beer, wine, and spirits available; suggestively upsell products to guests.
- Pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size.
- Check guest IDs to verify the minimum age requirement for purchasing alcoholic beverages.
- Communicate a cut-off to guests as required and de-escalate intoxicated guest situations.
- Contact management or security if a guest becomes confrontational, belligerent, or uses extreme profanity.
- Notify management for decisions beyond standard scope.
- Request additional products or restock as required.
- Handle cash accurately and maintain responsibility for the issued bank at the bar.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation and ensure bar equipment is clean and well-maintained.
- Perform other duties as assigned, such as set-up and breakdown of bar equipment and assisting with cooler organization.
Requirements
- Six months or more of bartending experience.
- Accurate cash handling skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-directed while working in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and long hours.
- Bartending school preferred.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Ability to lift heavy objects.
Pay
This role pays an hourly rate of $20.50 and is tip-eligible (per CBA).
