About The Venue
Hilliard Center is Corpus Christi’s premier entertainment and event complex, proudly owned by the City of Corpus Christi and managed by Oak View Group. Named in partnership with Hilliard Law, a firm dedicated to service and community, the waterfront venue features a state-of-the-art arena, the historic Selena Auditorium, and a versatile convention center overlooking the scenic Corpus Christi Bay. Responsibilities
- Demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellence in the areas of guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards.
- Follow the bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described.
- Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks, including state/federal regulations pertaining to the distribution of alcohol.
- Responsible for learning or having knowledge of various beer, wine varieties & spirits available and being able to learn to suggestively upsell products to guests.
- Pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size.
- Check the guest's ID in accordance with state/federal regulations to verify the minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
- Communicate a cut-off to a guest as required.
- Listen and respond to any customer requests or concerns.
- De-escalate intoxicated guest situations; contact management or security if a guest becomes confrontational, belligerent, or uses extreme profanity.
- Contact a management member if unable to resolve or make a decision beyond the scope of standard decision-making.
- Request additional products or restock products as needed.
- Responsible for the issued bank at the bar.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation at all times.
- Ensure that bar equipment is clean and well maintained.
- Other duties as assigned may include setting up and breaking down bar equipment as required and assisting with the organization of the cooler.
Requirements
- Six months or more of bartending experience.
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Accurate cash handling skills required.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to be self-directed while working in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and long hours.
Pay
This role pays an hourly rate of $15.00 and is tip eligible.
