Bartender - Merrill & Houston's Steak Joint

At Merrill & Houston’s Steak Joint, a classic steakhouse celebrating Beloit’s industrial heritage, you’ll deliver down-to-earth, attentive service while serving the freshest steaks and seafood.

Responsibilities

• Take customers’ food and drink orders
• Ensure that all orders are accurate and delivered to each table in a timely manner
• Suggest appetizers and meals to customers based on the menu and specials
• Make and serve drinks following established guidelines, procedures, and safety controls
• Control allocated guest checks by following check-use procedures and documenting all required information
• Process payments from guests and ensure accuracy of guest checks and payment methods
• Serve food and/or beverage, ensuring consistency throughout the meal
• Comply with all state and local liquor regulations
• Respond promptly to any guest request
• Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and mannerisms
• Maintain clear and open communication between all staff for an outstanding dining experience
• Create a pleasurable dining experience for all guests

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• Experience in making classic cocktails
• Basic math skills (able to add, subtract, and count change back to customers)
• Legible handwriting, strong customer service skills, and oral communication skills
• Valid Operator’s License
• U.S. Work Authorization (required)

Qualifications

• One year of bartending experience (preferred)
• Wine experience and/or certification (a plus)

Pay

$10.00 per hour
