About the Role
The Bartender is the first point of service for guests before they reach their tables. As a Hard Rock Cafe bartender, you will serve as a tour guide, communicator, showman, decision-maker, memorabilia curator, and musician (at heart), ensuring guests have a positive experience at the bar.
Responsibilities
- Take customer drink orders and provide outstanding customer service, including presenting drink and food specials.
- Total bills, present checks, collect settlement, and process payments.
- Reconcile transactions at the end of each shift, cash out, and maintain a balanced bank.
- Be thoroughly familiar with all menu items, including ingredients, food allergens, and spirit/wine/beer lists to assist guests and answer questions accurately.
- Prepare cocktails according to recipes, using correct tools and glassware.
- Memorize ingredients and recipes for all Hard Rock brand specialty cocktails and prepare accordingly.
- Develop new cocktail recipes when directed by management, utilizing mixology skills to combine unique flavor profiles and presentation methods.
- Greet guests, present menus, and assist with food and beverage selection by answering preparation questions.
- Serve food and beverages, ensuring timeliness, completeness, and accuracy.
- Maintain bartop and bar table guests by removing dirty dishes, replenishing utensils, refilling beverages, and addressing guest needs.
- Process payments according to POS and cash handling procedures.
- Perform last call and ensure all checks are closed out.
- Maintain bar inventory to determined par levels and communicate ordering needs to management.
- Maintain positive and professional communication with all staff, including the culinary team to maximize guest satisfaction.
- Adhere to food and beverage policies and State Liquor Laws.
- Keep station clean at all times and promote positive customer relations.
- Handle receipt of monies and settlement of guests' checks.
- Perform other departmental duties and assignments as directed by management.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of high-volume bartending experience.
- Extensive beer, liquor, and wine knowledge.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the history and composition of common ingredients, spirits, beer, and wines.
- Demonstrated spirit differentiation and drink preparation techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive, friendly, and outgoing attitude.

Physical Demands

- Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Work in a hectic, fast-paced, and often crowded and noisy casino environment.
- May be exposed to casino-related environmental factors, including excessive noise and constant exposure to the general public.
