Implements site and corporate Food Safety and sanitation initiatives. Requires effective leadership skills to manage Sanitation Associates, provide detailed Sanitation reports, review, develop, and implement Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures, and deliver thorough training to Associates. Ensures all safety requirements are fully adhered to throughout sanitation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Assist all areas in maintaining high levels of daily cleanliness and adherence to site GMPs.
- Prioritize work daily by identifying pressing issues, communicating with operators, knowing shift production plans, and maintaining area awareness.
- Promote a high-quality team environment through effective teamwork, self-management, and a positive attitude.
- Perform all assigned activities and job tasks within the designated area.
- Understand production schedules as they relate to shutdowns.
- Conduct detailed cleaning of large areas, workspaces, and manufacturing equipment.
- Understand microbiological and pest control requirements in a food manufacturing environment.
- Work with all teams on Sanitation, Pest Control, and Housekeeping Projects.
- Work in enclosed spaces and as part of an interactive team in a large plant setting.
- Complete all duties associated with assigned operation areas safely and efficiently.
- Perform sanitation duties as required by the Master Sanitation Schedule, with strict adherence to lock-out/tag-out procedures and required documentation.
- Assist the plant in meeting or exceeding production goals.
- Educate others on sanitation principles and cross-contamination hazards.
- Develop detailed knowledge of the plant’s process flow, traffic, airflow, and color code system.
- Uphold Mars’ quality and food safety standards as a responsibility of every associate.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities throughout the plant as assigned by the manager.
Requirements
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
- Willing and able to work varying shifts and schedules.
- Ability to understand and effectively communicate in English.
- Working knowledge of Safety, Quality, and Material Management Systems and procedures.
- Ability to read and understand daily production run schedules and execute plans.
- Ability to communicate production, quality, food safety, or other business-critical information to managers and team members.
Physical Requirements
- Capable of working at elevated heights.
- Able to lift 50 lbs. repetitively.
- Not unusually sensitive to chemicals (contact lenses not recommended).
- Vision correctable to 20/20.
- Able to stand for long periods on a concrete floor.
- Wear proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform).
- Perform bending, stooping, twisting, turning, standing for extended periods, reaching, and climbing stairs.
- Adapt to temperature and environmental extremes (hot to cold, dust, dirt, and chemicals).
- Forklift assignments require OSHA certification and frequent getting on and off.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.

Pay
USD 22.79 - USD 34.18 per hour (applicable to all US locations listed within the job posting).
