Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Observe and follow safety rules as prescribed by the safety policies, including wearing required PPE.
- Complete an expected amount of work based on time studies in accordance with schedule.
- Operate all necessary equipment in a proficient manner.
- Operate and adjust manual, semi-automatic or automatic numerically controlled machine equipment to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations.
- Operate one or more standard or special purpose production machines for various operations.
- Perform close tolerance work where dimensional and finish requirements are not difficult to maintain due to nature of tooling and machine setups.
- Check work at specified points.
- Adjust machine to maintain finish and tolerance requirements.
- Work from part drawings and use required precision measuring instruments to check and inspect work.
- Recognize and report machine malfunctions, tooling difficulties, etc.
- May assist with setups or proving of program.
- Under supervision, work procedures and products are subject to check and inspection.
- Meet with engineers to discuss potential machine problems.
- Maintain clean work area.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent required, additional training from trade school preferred.
- Requires 1 - 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Requires a general knowledge of tooling applications.
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints, specifications and routings.
- Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform geometric algebraic and trigonometric calculations.
- Must perform metric conversions.
- Requires good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees.

Physical Demands
- While performing the duties and responsibilities of this position, the employee is occasionally required to walk, use foot/feet to operate machine, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach above shoulders and move from place to place.
- The incumbent will regularly stand, sit and talk and listen and will frequently use hands to finger, handle or touch.
- Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- During the performance of his/her work duties, the incumbent will be required to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, and will frequently lift up to 25 pounds such as moving parts from material storage and moving parts in and out of work area.

- The employee works in a factory environment and is occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- The incumbent is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and work near moving mechanical parts.
