Bariatric Registered Dietitian - Center for Weight Loss Surgery
About the role
This is a per diem position at the NWH Center for Weight Loss Surgery. The schedule is Tuesday-Friday from 8a-4:30pm. The position requires extensive knowledge in treating obesity and using behavioral modalities to effect change.
Responsibilities
- Ensure optimum patient care, efficient operations, quality service, and sound financial management of preoperative and postoperative bariatric surgery patients.
- Provide advanced clinical and administrative responsibilities within clinical nutrition, including nutrition assessment, development of nutrition care plans, diet modification, nutrition education, and all activities involved in the nutritional needs of the patient population.
- Develop and implement nutrition plans of care for patients.
- Document all nutrition-related information including assessment, nutrition therapy recommendations and care plan, follow-up data and changes, diet consultation results, discharge planning, daily clinical activities, and other related orders and pertinent information.
- Counsel, educate, and develop resources and materials for the education of patients and their families on prescribed therapeutic diets.
- Partner with food service staff to ensure meals, supplements, and nutrition support are provided; review patients' menu selections to monitor compliance with modified diets.
- Assist leadership team in program planning and proposals to improve processes or improve efficiency; plans, conducts, supervises, and evaluates the education experiences of dietetic interns and students.
- Evaluate new products and mentor new staff.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Dietitian required or Master's Degree in Dietitian preferred. Experience: 3-5 years of clinical dietitian experience with multiple patient populations. Licenses and Credentials: State License as Dietitian and Nutritionist preferred, RD, RDN preferred.

$32.47 - $47.23/Hourly Grade 7
