Banquet Set-up

About the Role

The Banquet Set-up team member ensures each event space is meticulously prepared to create unforgettable guest experiences. You will set up tables and chairs, clean and vacuum carpets, and add final touches to ready the space for guests.

Located in downtown Omaha, the Omaha Marriott Downtown is a premier destination with 333 modern rooms and over 15,000 square feet of event space. As the anchor of the vibrant Capitol District, our hotel is steps from the CHI Health Center and Charles Schwab Field, home of the NCAA College World Series.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet spaces according to Banquet Event Order (BEO) and provide customer service per contract.
• Assist in maintaining and coordinating banquet rooms, including setup, upkeep, breakdown, and cleaning.
• Maintain banquet facility cleanliness by cleaning and vacuuming carpets.
• Work reliably in a 24-hour operation, accommodating varied schedules and high-pressure situations.
• Aid in serving guests as necessary and understand event setup requirements.
• Organize and restock the linen room and supplies.
• Attend mandatory department meetings and trainings.
• Uphold quality and service standards.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to work a varied schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and under pressure.
• Knowledge of appropriate table settings and proper setup.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
• Detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and produce high-quality, accurate work.
• Professionalism in all facets of the workplace, including well-groomed and courteous representation of the company.

Previous hospitality or customer service experience is preferred.
