Banquet Server - Summer

Summary

Our Banquet Servers provide quality service to our guests during their dining experience, working closely with our catering staff to ensure each course is served promptly. They also refill glasses, clear dishes, and address guest inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests
• Set tables according to specifications
• Set up hors d’oeuvres/buffet tables and pass food items
• Take accurate orders at tables with multiple entrée selections
• Deliver food and beverages accurately and promptly
• Tray pass cocktails
• Provide proper service including serving multiple courses, refilling water, clearing between courses, and clearing after the event
• Possess a functional wine knowledge and ability to properly serve
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to standardize event setup and service
• Know McCall and Shore Lodge’s history well enough to assist guests in familiarizing themselves with local offerings

Requirements

• 6 months of experience in a fine-dining or high-volume environment at a high-end restaurant, resort, or private club preferred
• Able to communicate effectively with and receive information from guests and team members
• Ability to multi-task while being highly organized and detail-oriented
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must be able to correctly take a guest’s order, enter it into the POS system, and tender payment
• Able to carry 25 lbs on a large oval tray; lifting supplies or equipment weighing 30 lbs or more
• Functional knowledge of food preparation techniques
• Functional wine and cocktail knowledge with basic preparation techniques
• Know McCall and the surrounding area well enough to assist guests in familiarizing themselves with local offerings
