Job Summary
A Banquet Server is responsible for serving food and beverages to guests at venues or catering events. The Banquet Server will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests during banquet events, ensuring all guests' needs are met in a timely and professional manner.
Essential Duties
- Provide courteous, efficient, and professional service to guests in accordance with banquet service standards
- Follow event timelines and service cues to ensure smooth and coordinated meal execution
- Maintain awareness of event flow, including speeches, presentations, and entertainment
- Respond promptly to guest needs while minimizing disruption to event proceedings
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas throughout the event
- Clear tables efficiently between courses while preserving event ambiance
- Work collaboratively with banquet team members to execute synchronized service
- Assist with proper setup of banquet rooms including table settings, linens, glassware, and service stations
- Maintain polished uniform standards and professional demeanor at all times
- Demonstrate positive body language and discretion during formal or high-profile events
- Adhere to alcohol service laws, safety procedures, and company policies
- Support a team-oriented environment focused on successful event execution
- Perform other duties as assigned by Leads, Banquet Captain, or Banquet Manager
Knowledge, Skill And Ability Requirements
- Must hold a valid M.A.S.T. Class 12 or 13 Permit (Washington state serving license)
- Must hold a valid Washington Food Worker Card (Health & Food Safety)
- Minimum 2 years professional experience in Food and Beverage, preferably catering
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Required to work evenings, weekends and holidays while in operation
- Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 50 pounds on an occasional basis
- Able to manipulate a full-size keg of beer (~160 pounds)
- Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis
- Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis
- Able to work for extended periods of time bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis
- Able to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling on an occasional basis
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees
