Banquet Server (SEASONAL 08/01/2026 -- 01/01/2027)

About the role

As a Banquet Server, you’ll help create memorable guest experiences by providing exceptional service during events, meetings, and banquets. You'll set up and break down event spaces, serve food and beverages, and ensure every guest feels welcomed and cared for. This role is ideal for someone with a positive attitude, great attention to detail, and a passion for hospitality. Food Handler and TABC Certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and set up all banquet rooms as directed on BEOs or by customer and supervisor.
  • Complete all required set-ups and breakdowns in accordance with hotel and IMPAC standards.
  • Perform duties and assignments as specified by supervisor.
  • Assist in maintaining clean and neat function rooms, storage areas, and equipment areas.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained in good working order; report broken equipment to Engineering.
  • Use care and practice safety when moving equipment.
  • Follow lost and found procedures.
  • Attend all department meetings.
  • Perform customer requests in a professional and timely manner.
  • Assist fellow associates in performing their duties.
  • Comply with side work assignments.
  • Follow all house rules, including dress code, appearance, and attendance standards.
  • Ensure all meeting setups are completed at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
  • Respond to setup changes within 10 minutes.
  • Coordinate and set up food buffets at least 5 minutes prior to breaks.
  • Refresh breaks and water stations at least every 60 minutes or as needed.
  • Deliver messages within 5 minutes of receipt.
  • Set up Audio Visual Equipment within 30 minutes of the scheduled function.
  • Be knowledgeable of all in-house services and local information to assist customers.
  • Empower yourself to assist customers with problems at all times.
  • Make every effort to obtain and use customers' names when addressing them.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide using units of American money, weight, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with occasional or no variables.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Sufficient education and/or literacy to identify and read product labels and communicate with guests.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and lift as required—with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A warm, professional demeanor reflecting a positive attitude.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
  • Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment.

Qualifications

  • Hotel experience is a plus.
  • A combination of education and experience.
