The Rally Hotel is an independent, lifestyle hotel located in Denver’s downtown playground, McGregor Square. In the heart of Lower Downtown, The Rally embodies Colorado’s spirit—from its industrial roots to the Rocky Mountains—offering moments of discovery around every corner. Our 182-room hotel is adjacent to Coors Field and anchors McGregor Square, a full-city block entertainment hub featuring restaurants, retail, and a plaza with a stadium-sized LED screen hosting sports, movies, and private events. The Rally inspires playfulness in everyone.

About the role

Under general supervision, provides prompt and courteous food service to customers. Sets up, services, and breaks down assigned functions safely. Reads banquet event orders (BEOs) to ensure correct setups, maintains station cleanliness, and adheres to service policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Set tables in assigned area correctly and uniformly.
  • Maintain station neatness while servicing guests per established policies.
  • Use proper in-room clearing and aisle tray break-down for buffets or special food service tables.
  • Assist Lead Banquet Server in setting up and breaking down buffet or special food service equipment.
  • Greet and serve guests following food and beverage service guidelines.
  • Follow guest check and money-handling procedures for à-la-carte and beverage orders.
  • Complete assigned sidework.
  • Remain attentive to customers throughout the dining experience, adhering to service standards.
  • Work flexible shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Local travel for outside catering functions only.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 months of experience in a similar position.
  • Basic knowledge of customer service principles, food service functions, and restaurant/kitchen operations.

Physical Demands

  • Lift trays, dish racks, and glass racks (20–40 lbs).
  • Push carts, Queen Marys, hotboxes, and portable bars (50–100 lbs).
  • Carry trays and racks using both hands (20–40 lbs).
  • Punch buttons, grasp items, and balance loaded trays.
  • Bend/kneel to access lower cabinets and lift trays.
  • Maneuver in narrow areas and between seated guests.
  • Stand continuously (100% of scheduled shift) to service guest functions.
  • Climb approximately 12 steps (20% of an 8-hour shift).
  • Moderate comprehension and literacy to read records and special requests.
  • Ability to multitask, follow verbal/written instructions, and communicate effectively.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail in crowded, noisy environments.
  • Use tact and understanding when handling customer service issues, including stressful situations.

Environment

Physically strenuous work involving prolonged standing, walking, lifting, and carrying throughout shifts in a 95% indoor environment. Freezer temperatures may reach -10 degrees.

Pay

USD $20.00 per hour.
