Banquet Server - Part Time
About the Role
Help create unforgettable celebrations at one of Kansas City's premier event destinations. As a Banquet Server at Hotel Kansas City, you'll provide polished, attentive service while working alongside our Banquet, Culinary, and Events teams to ensure every function is executed flawlessly. You'll help create memorable experiences by delivering thoughtful hospitality before, during, and after every event.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality throughout each event.
- Prepare banquet spaces by setting tables, arranging linens, organizing service ware, and ensuring every detail is presentation-ready.
- Serve plated meals, buffets, hors d'oeuvres, beverages, and other event offerings according to established service standards.
- Maintain attractive and well-stocked food stations, beverage stations, and event spaces throughout service.
- Monitor guest needs and provide attentive, timely service while anticipating requests whenever possible.
- Refresh meeting rooms and banquet spaces as needed to maintain a polished, welcoming environment.
- Work collaboratively with Banquet Captains, Culinary, and fellow event colleagues to ensure seamless execution from setup through breakdown.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas while following all food safety, sanitation, and service standards.
- Assist with post-event breakdown, equipment storage, and preparation for future events.
- Help create an atmosphere where every guest feels welcomed, cared for, and excited to return.
Requirements
- At least two years of food and beverage serving experience.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage service, banquet etiquette, and guest service standards.
- Familiarity with table settings, service ware, and menu presentation.
- The ability to learn, remember, and confidently communicate menu offerings and event details.
- Strong English communication skills to effectively interact with guests and colleagues.
- The ability to transport trays weighing up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and safely operate banquet beverage and toast equipment.
