Responsibilities

  • Anticipate and understand guests’ service needs, ascertain satisfaction, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
  • Greet, welcome, and acknowledge all guests by name; respond to their requests in a courteous and professional manner using professional language at all times.
  • Remain attentive to the needs of all guests, providing dependable, punctual, and enthusiastic service.
  • Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to all internal and external guests.
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times and work collaboratively with colleagues and team leaders.
  • Attend pre-shift meetings before events to learn event details, including property and guest expectations.
  • Collect and transport all supplies needed for event set-up, including china, glass, silver, linen, tables, chairs, decor, and props.
  • Set up and break down tables, chairs, buffets, linen, and props as specified by the Banquet Event Order.
  • Respond to and fulfill any special event arrangements.
  • Stock linen, china, silver, glassware, and supplies for service, ensuring good condition.
  • Maintain cleanliness and good condition of all banquet function space, including vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, window washing, polishing, and mopping.
  • Retrieve and track event materials, décor, props, crates, and boxes from delivery or drop-off areas and store them safely and securely.
  • Maintain all event equipment, chairs, tables, podiums, and linen.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station, back of house, storage, and service areas, practicing “clean as you go” while avoiding breakage and reporting incidents.
  • Break down and remove boxes and packaging used to unpack supplies and equipment related to banquet events.
  • Return service carts to proper locations after use.
  • Perform post-event cleaning tasks and breakdown of service.
  • Ensure all tables and chairs are set and the event room is clean and neat; return all food, beverage items, and supplies to the proper area before checking out with the leader on duty.
  • Assist with room turns to complete set-up for events, including tables and chairs.
  • Maintain high standards of presentation, service, event supply quality, safety, and cleanliness.
  • Input real-time work orders via KYC for any guest concerns during interaction and convey guest opportunities with clarity.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by the leadership team.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize performance and create value by challenging existing processes, encouraging innovation, and driving necessary change.
  • Establish and maintain open, positive, collaborative, and professional internal and external relationships.
  • Develop lasting relationships with guests to secure repeat business.
  • Foster and promote a cooperative working environment, maximizing efficiency and delivering the ultimate guest experience.
  • Follow all company, safety, and security policies and procedures; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; properly store flammable materials.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and standards with self and colleagues.
  • Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Prior serving experience.
  • Organized and proficient at multitasking.
  • A reliable team player willing to learn and adapt to new situations.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Proficient in verbal and written English communication.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Food Handling certification (can be obtained during employment).

Schedule

Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees are required to work varying schedules, including holidays, to accommodate the business and demands of the hotel.
