About the Role

To service all banquet events while maintaining the highest quality service standards established for The Biltmore. This position requires consistent adherence to the policies and procedures of the department as outlined in the Biltmore Standard Operating Procedures (BSOP’s).

Responsibilities

  • Report to work on time in proper uniform.
  • Check board to ensure the location of the room to work in.
  • Review copy of BEO with Captain during line up.
  • Set up china, glass, and silverware according to established guidelines in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Prepare side station for service.
  • Provide exceptional service during the service of meals, observing the Captains signals.
  • Provide continuous attention to details before, during, and after the service of the meal.
  • Ensure all guests receive a memorable experience from their stay at the hotel.
  • Complete all assigned side work duties in a timely manner.
  • Follow proper clearing and cleanup procedure.
  • Follow proper handling of hotel equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times observing all safety rules.
  • Follow proper beverage handling procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma is preferred.
  • No prior experience required.

Skills

  • Speak, read, write, and understand the English language. Spanish fluency is desired.

  • Work indoors and outdoors.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment that requires lots of walking on multiple surfaces.
  • Flexible to work weekends and holidays as required.

Physical Demands

  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 30 pounds without assistance.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Use, carry, and operate all necessary office equipment using finger dexterity.
  • Communicate with employees, managers, subordinates, and guests through verbal communication, hearing ability, and visual acuity.
  • Visually look at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Adapt to moderate temperatures in the hotel as thermostat is controlled by hotel environmental systems. Most work tasks are performed indoors.

Licenses or Certifications

  • Food safety certification.
  • Alcohol Awareness certification.

Grooming

All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per Biltmore Hotel standards.
