Part-time position at Trilogy® at Vistancia® in Peoria, Arizona (40 minutes west of Scottsdale & northwest of downtown Phoenix).

$15.15 per hour + tips

About the Role

The Banquet Server serves food and beverages, providing prompt and courteous service to guests in the banquet room or outdoors. This position reports to the Banquet Captain.

Responsibilities

• Set up the banquet room for events as requested.
• Greet and serve guests in an energetic and friendly manner, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
• Provide excellent hospitality with knowledge of the resort facility, dining area, and menu to answer guest questions enthusiastically.
• Write and relay food orders to the kitchen and beverage orders to the bartender.
• Understand event setup, including table numbers and stations.
• Serve food and beverages, clear tables, and follow service etiquette and facility procedures.
• Carry trays of dirty dishes to the kitchen.
• Serve hors d'oeuvres from trays during guest gatherings prior to meals.
• Communicate with guests throughout the dining experience to ensure needs are met.
• Work as a team under the direction of the Banquet Captain and assist banquet assistants as needed.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards; report potential safety or cleanliness issues.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One to three months of related server experience preferred.
• Must meet state and federal minimum age requirements for serving alcohol, if applicable.
• Current Food Handlers Card and TIPS® Certification (Training for Intervention Procedures).
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate discounts, and percentages).
• Strong communication skills to interact positively and effectively with team members and guests.
• Ability to read, comprehend instructions, and present information clearly.
• Attention to detail and comfort working in a fast-paced environment with continuous improvement expectations.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Work Environment

This position operates primarily in an indoor restaurant setting but may also work on patios or outdoors for events. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, native wildlife, and variable terrain is possible. The work environment can be loud, and outdoor settings may require navigating groups of people, table setups, decorations, plants, and natural landscapes.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to hear, see, speak clearly, and understand others, sometimes in noisy environments.
• Very active role requiring standing and walking for most of a work shift.
• Ability to lift, balance, and carry trays weighing up to 20 pounds; occasionally lift or move up to 30 pounds.
• Frequent hand washing and ability to navigate busy work areas.
