Banquet Server | Full-Time

About the role

As a Banquet Server, you will ensure all food and beverage service for banquet functions is delivered on time and meets Omni standards. This role involves performing side work, adhering to service standards, attending to guest needs, and maintaining banquet equipment and spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform all Banquet side work as designated by the Banquet Captain and/or Banquet Managers.
• Efficiently and properly perform all service standards, including setting tables to specifications, carrying trays, and providing excellent customer service.
• Attend to all guest needs during functions and related duties.
• Report any need for housekeeping or repairs to the Banquet Manager.
• Assist in the upkeep and organization of all liquor-related compliance and adhere to all liquor liability laws.
• Attend all designated pre-meal meetings and follow details as described on Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
• Handle beverages, compute accurate mathematical calculations, and manage cash transactions.
• Work cohesively with co-workers across departments and maintain a calm, welcoming demeanor in stressful situations.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of banquet serving experience.
• Possess an unexpired State of Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission Server Permit or ability to obtain one before hire.
• Previous experience with standard table sets and serving etiquette.
• Ability to communicate clearly and pleasantly in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to compute accurate mathematical calculations and handle cash.
• Familiarity with BEOs, Banquet Checks, and Banquet Room Sets.
• Ability to think quickly, make concise decisions, and prioritize tasks.
• Experience handling beverages.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Demands

• Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods or an entire work shift.
• Carry a banquet tray, filled to capacity, overhead and/or on shoulder.

Tools & Equipment

• Coffee maker/urn, toaster, microwave, beverage machines.
• Bus trays, dishware, silverware, glassware, and queen-mary cart.
