Banquet Room Set-Up Lead

About the role

As the Event Set Up Lead at Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay, you will work closely with the Event Set Up Team to efficiently set up and break down meeting and event spaces. This includes arranging tables and chairs, ensuring water and other required items are properly placed, reading and understanding group detail reports, and making informed decisions based on event requirements. You will communicate clearly with the Event Planning Team, meeting planners, and other departments, providing direction and oversight to co-workers to ensure each event is executed accurately and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Lead the set-up and break-down of meeting and event spaces, including tables, chairs, and other required items.
• Read and interpret group detail reports to make informed decisions based on event requirements.
• Communicate effectively with the Event Planning Team, meeting planners, and other departments.
• Provide direction and oversight to co-workers to ensure accurate and professional event execution.
• Build positive working relationships with meeting planners and colleagues.
• Operate hotel vehicles (e.g., box truck or golf carts) for off-property hotel events.

Requirements

• Ability to lift and move moderately heavy items.
• Flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekdays, and weekends.
• Previous leadership experience preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of event set-up experience preferred.
• Ability to drive hotel vehicles (e.g., box truck or golf carts).
