Banquet Line/Prep Cook

About the role

Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking an energetic and passionate Prep Cook to join our Culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to work in a professional kitchen environment, with a strong desire to learn, develop skills, and work with the culinary leadership team.

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge and skills in various cooking procedures and methods (grill, sauté and fry)
• Read and recreate recipes
• Prepare cold items, salads, simple side items, simple appetizers and more
• Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat and more
• Absorb and utilize cross-utilization to minimize food waste
• Create workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Be responsible for the quality of ingredients

Requirements

• Active Food handler’s certification or the ability to get it
• Willingness to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts
• Strong organizational skills
• Able to work independently
• Able to be on your feet for long periods of time
• Able to lift at least 50 pounds
• At least 21 years of age
• Desire to exceed expectations
• Energetic personality

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have:

• Experience in a professional kitchen setting
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness

• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and accuracy in food preparation

Pay

$21 - $22 per hour
