About the Role

To manually set up, break down, and service all meeting rooms in accordance with the hotel’s high standards of quality. The hotel operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.

Responsibilities

  • Keep storage rooms maintained and organized.
  • Maintain back hall: breakdown dirty dishes and bring to dish room.
  • Pick up linen and put away.
  • Set up all meeting rooms to the specifications of the guest, including transporting awkward and heavy materials such as staging, tables, chairs, and dance floors from storage to meeting rooms.
  • Break down all meeting rooms where meetings have concluded and return items to storage.
  • Maintain established cleaning schedule of meeting rooms and ballrooms to keep them presentable at all times.
  • Supply and replenish meeting rooms with clean glasses and fresh water.
  • Communicate with supervisor throughout shift to stay informed of tasks.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Clean up unexpected spills or address special guest requests.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
  • Follow department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
  • Utilize protective equipment and report unsafe conditions, accidents, or injuries to supervisor.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per team member handbook standards.
  • Assist other Banquet Personnel when needed.

Requirements

  • Hold a current Food Handler Card.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
  • Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware, as well as various types of equipment and set-up styles used in meeting rooms (e.g., different table types like round or schoolroom).
  • Basic knowledge of the English language to understand customer inquiries and communicate simple instructions.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions for safe application of products and processes.
  • Ability to remember, recite, and promote menu items.
  • Ability to operate beverage equipment, such as a coffee maker.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift and move multiple tables, chairs, and podiums weighing up to 80 lbs. through crowded rooms, requiring continuous physical activity throughout the shift.
  • Ability to grasp, lift, carry, or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
