Banquet House person- Seasonal

About the Role

The Banquet Set Up/Houseperson at The Asbury Hotel works in one of Asbury Park's most spirited dining environments, where great food meets a laid-back, welcoming energy. This role involves setting, maintaining, and refreshing hotel banquet meeting rooms according to sales contracts and company standards to ensure guest satisfaction. The position requires genuine hospitality, quick instincts, and a natural ability to make every guest feel welcome.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all corridors and public areas in accordance with housekeeping procedures, standards, and safety regulations.
• Set, maintain, and refresh banquet and meeting rooms in a timely manner to meet sales contract and company standards.
• Ensure all banquet and meeting rooms are properly set so banquet service staff can prepare for functions.
• Perform timely and safe breakdown of meeting rooms after event completion.
• Refresh rooms on schedule, including providing water, cleaning, and setting up for appropriate functions.
• Assist supervisor during large functions.
• All other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications

• Prior housekeeping experience is desirable but not required.
• Minimal literacy necessary; ability to utilize alternate training tools.

Physical Demands

• Ability to communicate with guests, associates, and supervisors.
• Pushing vacuum entire length of hallway, carrying supplies from department to assigned floor, carrying dirty linen to laundry shoot, and removing room service trays.
• Bending/kneeling for dusting, retrieving items from the floor, and other tasks.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
• Mobility to reach all areas of responsibility, including shelves, windows, ledges, pipes, under and around furniture.
• Continuous standing and/or walking to accomplish tasks.
• Climbing stairs (approximately 40 steps, 15% of a 40-hour week).
• 80% of the work environment is indoors.

Pay

USD $17.00 per hour.
