Banquet Captain - Full Time

Responsibilities

• Assists in the set-up of banquet functions as required.
• Conduct roll call meetings before events to relay pertinent information about service, hotel activities and performance for excellence standards.
• Greet host and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Review function with all other necessary departments, ensuring all requirements are met.
• Oversees all dining room service.
• Complete all banquet checks in a correct and timely manner.
• Assists in cleaning and reset set-up of banquet room(s).
• Maintain a valid driver’s license in your state of residence and maintain a clean driving record.
• Exhibit a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with customers and fellow cast members.
• Perform any and all duties as assigned by your Manager or a member of management.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or cast members of organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Must successfully complete C.A.R.E. training certification course.
• Excellent oral, written and organizational skills.
• Must have excellent ability to supervise and motivate cast members.
• Must be able to transport up to 150 lbs. on a cart or carry 50 lbs. on a tray through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
• While performing the duties of this job, the cast member is regularly required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
• The cast member is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
• The cast member is occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
• The cast member must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and be able to transport up to 150 lbs. on a cart.
• Must be able to stand for a full shift.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Exposure to weather during outside catering.

Pay

Starting salary: $19.00 per hour.

Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. Base salary is just one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
