Banquet Bartender - On Call

About the Role

Banquet Bartenders at Hotel Kansas City are responsible for providing libations and offering customized recommendations. The ideal candidate should be familiar with the latest in mixology, bar equipment, and sanitation standards, with a focus on maintaining an attractive bar. This position allows for casual conversation, creativity, and building on one's style and previous bartending experiences. Other duties include general banquet preparation, room refreshes, and maintaining a sanitary environment.

This is an on-call position.

Responsibilities

• Provide libations and customized drink recommendations to guests
• Maintain knowledge of mixology, bar equipment, and sanitation standards
• Perform general banquet preparation and room refreshes
• Maintain a clean and sanitary bar environment
• Engage in casual conversation and build on bartending style and experience

Requirements

• At least three years of previous food and beverage bartending experience
• Open availability on Friday and Saturday evenings
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
• Ability to read, speak, write, and understand English sufficiently to understand menus, special promotions, and communicate with guests
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote the entire variety of menu items

Work Environment

• Ability to transport large trays weighing up to 50 lbs through a crowded room continuously throughout the shift
• Ability to operate beverage and toast equipment
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform essential functions for an extended period of time
