About the role
A seasoned paralegal is needed to support the firm’s Bankruptcy, Restructuring & Litigation Practice based in Newark, NJ.
Responsibilities
- Support commercial litigation and bankruptcy attorneys
- Conform legal documents to meet court specifications
- Aid with commercial loan closings and related transactions
- File UCC financing statements and real estate documents electronically and physically
- Manage pleading, discovery, and closing files for assigned matters
- Create binders, trial notebooks, exhibits, and other materials for hearings and trials
- Prepare documents for service of process as needed
- Compile and present reports and presentations
- Document review projects as assigned
Requirements
- At least 3 years of paralegal experience
- Commercial litigation, bankruptcy, foreclosure, or real estate/banking experience preferred
- New Jersey notary license advantageous
Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
- Good proofreading skills
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
