Bank Operations Reconcilement Specialist

About the role

The Bank Operations Reconcilement Specialist position at Regions is responsible for daily and weekly reconciliation of payments and transfers. This role requires the tracking of time and is eligible for overtime hours worked in excess of 40 per week under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares daily and weekly reports to review all incoming transfers
  • Ensures all open items are prioritized and reviewed
  • Ensures all queries are logged and up to date in the appropriate systems
  • Clarifies payment details to ensure appropriate funds allocation
  • Notifies appropriate parties of non-receipts/rejections
  • Takes corrective action on incorrect payments to reduce potential risk
  • Aids in handling escalated issues/problems when necessary
  • Provides advice and guidance to less experienced associates as needed
  • Ensures compliance with risk management programs, rules and regulations, and cybersecurity practices; identifies opportunities for and supports process improvements; applies disciplined change management practices

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two (2) years of related banking or operations experience

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to interpret and ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and industry guidance
  • Work in a fast-paced environment
  • General knowledge of banking procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation

Preferred

  • Account Reconciliation Experience - Researching and resolving transaction discrepancies
  • Banking or Financial Operations Knowledge - Understanding of payments, transfers, and operational processes
  • Strong Attention to Detail - Ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Microsoft Excel Proficiency - Experience working with spreadsheets, reports, and data analysis
  • Organization & Time Management - Ability to prioritize tasks, manage open items, and meet deadlines

Proximity

Proximity to Hoover, AL is required. This position requires working in the office a minimum of three days each week.

Compensation Details

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position. Minimum Job Range Target: $37,750.00 USD Median $44,940.00 USD
