About the role

This position assists customers in their shopping experience by producing, stocking, and packaging bakery items efficiently, courteously, and in a friendly manner.

Responsibilities

• Know and implement Cosentino’s Customer Service Standards
• Courteously and efficiently assist customers by filling orders at the bakery counter
• Accurately and courteously answer customer questions about department products, procedures, and policies
• Maintain a creative and appealing display of products in display cases and ensure they are clean and full
• Meet or exceed productivity standards to achieve desired team and individual results
• Follow rotation procedures to ensure stale or outdated product is not used or purchased by customers
• Ensure the bakery is stocked, cleaned, and ready for the next shift or day's business
• Work actively to keep the work area and department clean and safe for customers and coworkers
• Comply with health regulations, sanitation guidelines, and safety procedures for the department and store
• Operate, clean, and maintain all equipment safely and competently
• Demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal skills for positive customer and peer interactions
• Show basic math and reading skills required for the position
• Promote sales by suggesting additional products or services
• Resolve customer complaints in a professional manner and recognize when to involve store management
• Unload incoming shipments of bakery ingredients and stock them neatly without damaging merchandise
• Support the company by completing additional tasks, assisting other stores or departments, and gaining new skills when necessary

Requirements

• A food handling permit must be obtained within 14 days of employment
• Completion of ongoing training and development as outlined in the Cosentino’s Learning Plan

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred
