Events
Join us for Friendship Village's annual Back-to-School Bash on August 11 as neighbors, families, and volunteers come together to celebrate a new school year. Volunteers will assist with setup, games and activities, backpack distribution, food service, and cleanup. Please arrive by 4:30 PM for setup. The event runs from 5:00–6:30 PM, with cleanup wrapping up around 7:00 PM. This is an outdoor event, so wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes.
Support
Phoenix Family relies on the support of volunteers. Each year, hundreds of people give their time to Phoenix Family, helping with reading support, food access, seasonal programs, special events, and more.
About the Organization
We work alongside families, children, and older adults who live in affordable housing communities across the Kansas City area. Our programs are based where people live, providing support that residents choose and find useful. We believe in one-size-fits-all solutions and focus on listening, building relationships, and offering support that residents choose and find useful. Volunteers are essential to making that work possible.
