About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to join our core platform team. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with a passion for building scalable, reliable, and impactful backend systems. As a key member of our engineering team, you will have the opportunity to influence the technical direction and architecture of our platform while remaining actively involved in coding and delivery. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including product, design, analytics, and finance—to develop features that enhance our financial services and ensure seamless integration with banking partners. Your expertise will help us scale our systems to support rapid business growth while maintaining high performance and reliability. Additionally, you will play a vital role in mentoring junior engineers, elevating engineering standards, and ensuring the success of complex projects from inception to deployment.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in software development or related fields
- Proven experience in technical leadership and guiding engineering teams through complex projects
- Proficiency in Java, Python, Golang, or TypeScript/Node.js
- Strong knowledge of relational SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or DynamoDB
- Experience designing and developing fault-tolerant, scalable distributed systems
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services including ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, and VPN
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like AWS CLI, AWS CDK, or Terraform
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with finance reporting, reconciliation, and complex data querying
- Knowledge of automated monitoring, observability, and operational best practices
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain financial services and internal tooling, including reporting and reconciliation processes
- Develop new APIs and functionalities to support large monetary transactions across various payment rails, such as ACH
- Scale core platform infrastructure to support business growth while ensuring system performance and reliability
- Improve operational efficiency through automation, tooling, and system observability enhancements
- Collaborate with product, analytics, finance, and engineering teams to launch new financial features
- Mentor junior engineers, promote best engineering practices, and contribute to technical standards
- Participate in architectural decisions and contribute to long-term technical strategy
