About the Role
At The Kitchen Restaurant, Sacramento's leading Michelin-starred culinary destination, we are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Back Server to join our elite dining room team. In this role, you are vital to the guests' journey, transforming traditional table service into an elevated hospitality experience. You will master the seamless mechanics of our dining room and bar, working in complete synchronization with Servers, Sommeliers, and Bartenders to ensure our standards of excellence are met with every course. This fast-paced, demanding position requires an exceptional eye for detail, the ability to multitask gracefully under pressure, and a deep commitment to continuous education—including rigorous menu and beverage memorization.
Responsibilities
- Support the dining room team in delivering an elevated hospitality experience.
- Master the seamless mechanics of the dining room and bar operations.
- Collaborate with Servers, Sommeliers, and Bartenders to maintain excellence in service for every course.
- Multitask gracefully under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Commit to continuous education, including menu and beverage memorization.
Requirements
- A minimum of two (2) years of previous serving, back serving, or busing experience—preferably within a fine dining, high-volume, or chef-driven concept.
- Valid California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification.
- Must be at least 18 years of age (or possess a valid, state-approved work permit).
- A passionate willingness to learn, grow, and adapt to elite service standards.
- Ability to work varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by a premier restaurant.
- Reliable transportation to and from our Sacramento location.
