Back Crew Supervisor

Purpose

Maintain and ensure hatchery production runs efficiently and is well‑organized while supervising back crew employees.

Responsibilities

• Supervise back crew employees during production, leading and monitoring up to 15 or more staff.
• Develop, prepare, and implement Pull Order schedules and Pull Orders for the following day.
• Complete hatchability paperwork and submit it to the office in a timely manner.
• Assist as needed to keep production running smoothly.
• Oversee animal welfare and biosecurity protocols and procedures during production.
• Follow all company rules and regulations for biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety.
• Work as a team member to achieve company goals and demonstrate patience while monitoring others.
• Flexibly fill many different positions within the department as required.
• Work in environments with humidity, dust, soaps, and disinfectant odors.
• Lift crates weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Be available and willing to work extended workdays as needed.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Follow directives of the Assistant Hatchery Manager.
• Assign back crew members to various tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred.
• Prior experience with animals or in a hatchery preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate verbally and listen effectively; bilingual Spanish speaking ability desired.
• Ability to work successfully in a team environment.
• Ability to perform job duties while wearing required personal protective equipment.
