Responsibilities
- Prepare and complete detailed assigned reconciliations
- Clear items from these reconciliations and recommend procedural enhancements to minimize or eliminate the daily volume of outstanding exception entries
- Ensure that all stale outstanding items are followed through timely
- Perform retrieval of statement and/or check copies from image archives
- Recreate statement activity as needed
- Fulfill periodic reporting/data requests for the Financial Reporting department, auditor requests, etc.
- Meet department service level agreements while maintaining high quality of service
- Identify methods of improving both functional and departmental efficiencies
- Proactively recognize issues to be escalated to minimize financial loss to the company
- Maintain adequate controls to ensure compliance with consumer protection statutes/regulations in a defined area of responsibility
- Implement bank-directed policy changes related to regulatory amendments
- Cross train on all duties of department
- Participate in all required training sessions for compliance
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High School Degree required, some college preferred
- 3-5 years accounting experience required
- Experience in utilizing Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)
- Ability to work varied hours/days including occasional overtime as business dictates
- Proficiency working in spreadsheets
- Ability to acquire and use new skills as job requires
- Basic understanding of banking regulations and Federal Reserve rules, as well as Bank policy as it relates to Deposit Operations
