B&C Specialist II

Responsibilities

• Prepare and complete detailed assigned reconciliations
• Clear items from these reconciliations and recommend procedural enhancements to minimize or eliminate the daily volume of outstanding exception entries
• Ensure that all stale outstanding items are followed through timely
• Perform retrieval of statement and/or check copies from image archives
• Recreate statement activity as needed
• Fulfill periodic reporting/data requests for the Financial Reporting department, auditor requests, etc.
• Meet department service level agreements while maintaining high quality of service
• Identify methods of improving both functional and departmental efficiencies
• Proactively recognize issues to be escalated to minimize financial loss to the company
• Maintain adequate controls to ensure compliance with consumer protection statutes/regulations in a defined area of responsibility
• Implement bank-directed policy changes related to regulatory amendments
• Cross train on all duties of department
• Participate in all required training sessions for compliance

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High School Degree required, some college preferred
• 3-5 years accounting experience required
• Experience in utilizing Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)
• Ability to work varied hours/days including occasional overtime as business dictates
• Proficiency working in spreadsheets
• Ability to acquire and use new skills as job requires
• Basic understanding of banking regulations and Federal Reserve rules, as well as Bank policy as it relates to Deposit Operations
