AWS Cloud Engineer (Infrastructure)

About the role
Client is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to join a dynamic AWS Cloud Engineering operations team and support a production enterprise AWS environment. This is a foundational platform leadership role responsible for defining the engineering strategy, architecture, governance, and operational excellence of AWS across the organization.
As the AWS Cloud Engineer, you will establish engineering standards and ensure our cloud platform is secure, resilient, scalable, and highly automated. You will partner closely with Architecture, Security, Networking, Infrastructure, and Product Engineering teams to deliver enterprise cloud capabilities while enabling development teams through self-service infrastructure and automation.
Responsibilities
- Define engineering strategy, architecture, governance, and operational excellence for AWS across the organization
- Establish engineering standards for a secure, resilient, scalable, and highly automated cloud platform
- Partner with Architecture, Security, Networking, Infrastructure, and Product Engineering teams to deliver enterprise cloud capabilities
- Enable development teams through self-service infrastructure and automation
Requirements
- 10 years of infrastructure, cloud engineering, or platform engineering experience
- 5 years of deep, hands-on AWS engineering and EKS experience supporting production enterprise-scale cloud environments
- Proven experience owning enterprise AWS environments including multi-account governance, networking, security, and cloud operations
- Demonstrated technical leadership leading cloud engineering teams or large-scale AWS platform initiatives
- Extensive experience architecting enterprise AWS platforms from the ground up
- Strong experience designing highly available, resilient, secure, and automated cloud platforms
