AWS API Engineer

Location

Location: Hanover, NJ (3 days/week onsite).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs using AWS services.
  • Build and deploy APIs using Amazon API Gateway, AWS Lambda and microservices architecture.
  • Develop backend services using Python, Nodejs, Java or similar languages.
  • Integrate APIs with AWS services such as DynamoDB, RDS, SNS/SQS, Step Functions.
  • Implement authentication, authorization using IAM, Cognito, OAuth, JWT.
  • Ensure API security, throttling, and monitoring using API Gateway features.
  • Write reusable, testable, and efficient code with proper documentation.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild or GitHub Actions.
  • Enable logging, tracing, and monitoring using CloudWatch, AWS XRay.
• Collaborate with front-end DevOps and product teams.

Technical Skills

• AWS: API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch.
• Languages: Python, Nodejs or Java.
• API tools: Postman, Swagger or OpenAPI.
• CICD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions or AWS CodePipeline.
• IaC: Terraform or CloudFormation.

Pay

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: $85,000 - 95,000. Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws.
