About the role
The Assistant Vice President (AVP), Supply Chain Services plays a central leadership role in one of Montefiore Health System's most critical enterprise functions. Reporting to the Vice President, Supply Chain Services, this high-impact role requires an accomplished healthcare supply chain executive who thrives in complexity, partners closely with senior leaders and clinicians, and drives continuous improvement across day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations across all supply chain functions, including Strategic Sourcing, Procure-to-Pay, Accounts Payable, Materials Management, ERP and supply chain systems, Data & Analytics, Project Design & Enablement, budgeting, and HR.
- Drive performance through KPIs, process monitoring, and timely reporting to leadership.
- Ensure departmental adherence to SOPs, protocols, and project documentation.
- Lead high-impact initiatives focused on savings, efficiency, automation, and process redesign.
- Analyze business needs, assess feasibility, develop requirements, and implement solutions across enterprise supply chain functions.
- Cook up and manage multiple cross-functional projects concurrently, ensuring governance, measurement, and sustained outcomes.
- Serve as a trusted partner to executive, clinical, and operational leaders, facilitating collaboration and removing barriers to success.
- Develop and execute communication strategies for initiatives, ensuring clear visibility and alignment across the system.
- Lead senior directors and indirectly manage a large, diverse workforce, including unionized teams.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and customer-focused culture anchored in accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive management experience in healthcare supply chain operations, with exposure across multiple supply chain areas.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing large teams and complex operations, ideally within an academic medical center or integrated delivery network.
- Knowledgeable in: Healthcare Supply Chain Management functions; Vendor Management, Talent Management, Contracting, Project Management, Healthcare standards; ERP, Contracting Software, Inventory Systems; Healthcare Indirect and non-clinical spend categories; and Accounting principles, cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, market and supplier research and analysis.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and enterprise supply chain systems.
