About the role

Responsible for leading data quality assurance (QA) processes to ensure accuracy and reliability of data products. Plans, coordinates, and implements comprehensive testing of data solutions, including reports, models, and integration within the Bank's data platform.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates, and executes QA testing for data products, ensuring accuracy and alignment with Bank requirements.
  • Develops QA processes and tools to adhere to organizational change management standards.
  • Handles pre-production QA for data assets, including SSRS reports, Power BI dashboards, SSIS packages, data models, and data cubes.
  • Writes and analyzes SQL queries to evaluate data quality, identify issues, and propose technical resolutions.
  • Analyzes and reviews database objects to validate business logic and support QA efforts.
  • Manages as-built documentation to show updates and improvements made to production environments.
  • Works with data governance teams to ensure compliance with Bank's data standards.
  • Develops a thorough understanding of the Bank's architecture, including applications, data flows, and downstream utilization.
  • Works with IT and business teams to ensure integration and deployment of data solutions, as well as support the organization's Data Governance framework and initiatives.
  • Provides guidance to team while facilitating professional development and technical growth, while also building strong cross-functional relationships across departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or related field, or commensurate work experience, required.
  • 4+ years of experience in data analysis, testing, or quality assurance within data warehouses or analytical environments, required.
  • 2+ years of experience in SQL and data quality assurance tools and methodologies.
  • 1+ year of experience working in Agile development and QA environments.

Skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of data warehousing and relational database concepts.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of QA tools and methodologies for data testing in Agile development environments.
  • General knowledge of banking regulations and the testing environment.
  • General knowledge of reporting and visualization tools such as SSRS and Power BI.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with attention to detail, a commitment to accuracy, and thoroughness in testing and documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skilled in SQL for data analysis and testing of database structures.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective business analysis and technology analysis skills.
  • Ability to utilize discretion and sound judgment in decision making.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to produce thorough, accurate and timely work.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and flexibility in an evolving environment and to communicate proactively when roadblocks are encountered.
  • Ability to work without close supervision.
  • Ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service, organizational, solutioning, and planning skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well with exacting deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Skill in using computers and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in commercial banking, real estate, or regulated financial industry, preferred.
  • Experience leading and mentoring teams, preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in Snowflake.
