About the Role

Onsite / Full-time / Hourly. As a Payload & Avionics Assembly Technician at Urban Sky, you will be responsible for the manufacture and refurbishment of payload and avionics systems at our Denver, CO headquarters. You'll work with our Lead Technician and hardware engineering team to assemble both production and R&D systems for regular flight operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture and integration of electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Semi-automated testing of completed assemblies.
  • Troubleshoot and track manufacturing issues with assistance from our Electrical Engineering team.

Skill & Experience

  • Experience with assembly, repair and troubleshooting in an ESD sensitive environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and precision
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of mechanical concepts
  • Good problem solving, troubleshooting, critical thinking and creative thinking skills
  • Experience with MS Office

Nice-To-Haves

  • Ability to read and understand schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing environment
  • Experience with RCA (root cause analysis) and FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis) processes
  • Experience with technical writing
  • Experience with through hole and SMD soldering

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident status required.
  • Must be located within commuting distance of Denver, CO.
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License.
  • Ability to work effectively within a small, collaborative team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks based on production demands.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, BOMs, and quality documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to perform hands-on manufacturing and repetitive production tasks.
  • Availability to work variable day shifts of 8 to 12 hours, Monday through Friday, and accommodate frequent schedule changes inherent to a startup environment.
  • Willingness to work required overtime, which typically accounts for 30–40% of hours annually.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and perform assembly work for up to 12 hours per shift.

Pay

The Pay Range For This Role Is 25 - 32 USD per hour (Denver CO HQ)
