On-siteManagementFull-time

This role is a vital execution position within the production team at Allocortech, Inc. The Electronics Assembler is responsible for the mechanical assembly, wiring, and integration of flight-critical electronics for production UAV, eVTOL, and advanced marine programs. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations / Production, the Associate transforms printed circuit boards (PCBAs) and structural components into certified avionics, power distribution hubs, and flight computers. Ideal for a detail-oriented, high-dexterity professional who takes pride in crafting safety-critical hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble complex electromechanical units, including flight computers, motor controllers, and battery management enclosures, using specialized hand tools and calibrated torque drivers.
  • Fabricate, crimp, route, and terminate wire harnesses and connectors per engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Mount components and hardware into chassis housings, ensuring perfect mechanical fit and alignment.
  • Apply conformal coatings, epoxies, and thermal interface materials precisely to safeguard assemblies against harsh aerospace environments.
  • Handle all assemblies and hardware in strict accordance with Allocortech ESD safe-handling procedures (including wrist straps, static-dissipative mats, and protective packaging).
  • Conduct visual self-inspections to proactively identify mechanical misalignment, loose hardware, or component damage prior to final testing.
  • Document and flag build discrepancies or Bill of Materials (BOM) anomalies directly to production engineering to prevent line bottlenecks.
  • Review production travelers, engineering drawings, and schematics to guarantee complete technical compliance during the build process.
  • Track and update build status digitally inside the company ERP / MRP system, logging serial numbers and batch tracking with high data-entry accuracy.
  • Maintain tool calibration logs and clean-room workstation organization in compliance with OSHA and AS9100 requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on electronics assembly experience, including a verified track record with wire harness fabrication and assembly.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, wire lists, and multi-layered wire routing diagrams.
  • Aptitude: Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with standard hand tools, wire strippers, crimpers, and digital calipers.
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual as defined under ITAR 22 C.F.R.120.15) due to export control requirements on flight hardware.
  • Physical Capabilities: Accurate color vision for wire color-code identification; manual dexterity for manipulation of tiny components; corrected vision sufficient to inspect small hardware; ability to sit or stand for extended assembly periods.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on soldering and rework experience (through-hole or SMT) is a strong plus, though not required.
  • Active or previous certifications in IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, or J-STD-001.
  • Experience building aerospace avionics, power conversion equipment, or complex electric systems.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management assembly rules.

What Success Looks Like at 90 Days

  • Day 30: Seamlessly navigating Allocortech production travelers and building core sub-assemblies independently with standard internal yield rates. Full mastery of local ESD and safety policies.
  • Day 60: Achieving zero documentation or tracking errors in the ERP system while tracking serial numbers through assembly milestones.
  • Day 90: Maintaining 100% on-time delivery of flawless assemblies to the Electronics Test Technician queue, directly accelerating production velocity.
